In order to use Internet Explorer on Mac, you will have to first look for the download. Generally, on a computer, you would find Internet Explorer as a default application. But when it comes to Mac, you will be rather using Safari as it’s their very own proprietary browser.

Internet Explorer is one of the oldest and most reliable browsers in the entire world. It has been widely used even before certain browsers which have gotten popular today were introduced for the users. The use of this browser is fairly simple and it comes with different versions from time to time. The best part is, it is available for computers as well as mobile phones which makes it easier for people to access this browser.

How to use internet explorer on Mac

In order to use internet explorer on Mac, you will have to find indirect ways because there’s no direct way of getting internet explorer there. Here are three ways through which you can get internet explorer on your Mac:-

1. Through Safari

One way through which you can get Internet Explorer on your system is through Safari. As you would know, Safari is an already installed browser on Mac that can be used for basic purposes. But if you require Internet Explorer specifically, you can look to download it too. Here are a few steps that you can follow in order to install IE through Safari:-

  • Go to the menu of Safari. You are required to select Preferences in the first place.
  • In the next step, you have to go to the Advanced tab.
  • When you go further, you will be required to go to the Show develop option.

It will make sure that a new development menu is going to appear on your phone. You will be able to select internet explorer as a browser that you would like to use.

2. Through a virtual machine

You can also launch a virtual machine to download internet explorer to your Mac. You can experiment using the different operating systems through the virtual machines and you don’t have to install it on Mac in the first place. You can use a virtual machine program in order to do so. Also, look to get into the following steps:-

  • You have to first install some VM programs into the system.
  • The next thing to be done would be to create a new custom virtual machine in the installation process.
  • You have to drag and drop the Windows ISO file onto the dialog window and click on finish.
  • Go back to the VM and click on play to finish everything up.

This way you can directly use Internet Explorer on your Mac. If you want to go back to the macOS version instead of Windows, you have to exit it all. Make sure that you delete all the unnecessary background apps and processes before running this file.

3. Through Third-party browser

If Safari doesn’t work and you are not able to use the VM feature just about right, you can take the help of a third-party browser to do the same. Firefox, Google Chrome, Edge might already be installed on your Mac and you can always look to use any of them to further use IE. You will have to follow the same process as you did on Safari in order to start exploring IE.
