Apple Watch comes in different sizes due to the evolution of the design. Apple has introduced different variations of its watch, including the Apple Watch SE and Ultra. Every iteration of the Apple Watch comes in a range of sizes to cater to diverse wrist sizes.

After purchasing and wearing an Apple Watch, determining its size can be somewhat challenging. Apple does not explicitly display the size of the watch within the software. However, there are other approaches to determining what size of Apple Watch you own.

If you are interested in ordering a watch band for your Apple watch and don’t know the size, then in this guide, I will be covering how to tell what size of Apple watch you have.

What Size is My Apple Watch?

Before proceeding, it is important to note that by standard the Apple Watch size is determined by its case not by its screen.

Several methods exist for determining the size of an Apple Watch:

  • Reading the details from the Back of the Watch Case
  • From the iPhone Watch App
  • Reading from the Packaging
  • Using the Model Number
  • Using the Serial Number

Checking the Back of the Watch

The Apple Watch size along with additional details is written on the back of the watch case. Flip the Apple Watch, and read the size. Generally, Apple Watches are 38mm, 40mm, 42mm, and 44mm.

You may find the writing behind the Apple Watch case very thin, try taking a picture using your iPhone and zoom in to read it.

Checking the iPhone Watch App

The second method to find the size of the watch is by checking the iPhone Watch application. This application comes preinstalled. If you have paired your Apple Watch with your iPhone, then the Watch app tells the size of the watch.

Launch the Watch app, find the All Watches option present at the top, and tap on it. The watch will be listed with its series and size.

Checking the Packaging

If you have an Apple Watch box, then you are in luck. You can find the size of the watch by looking at the device description, depending upon packaging it can be on one side of the box or under it.

Using the Model Number

The model number does not explicitly indicate the size of the watch. But if you know the model number then searching it from the following table will assist you in finding the exact size.

To identify the model of the watch:

Open the Settings on the watch then tap on About and scroll till you find the Model of the watch.

On the iPhone, launch the Watch app from the home screen, and then go to My Watch>General>About>Model.

Next, refer to the table below to find the corresponding size based on the model number. For example, the model number of my watch is A1757, which means my Watch is 38mm and Series 2.

On the iPhone, launch the Watch app from the home screen, and then go to My Watch>General>About>Serial Number.

After finding the serial number, visit the Apple Coverage Page.

Apple Watch comes in various sizes and sometimes it becomes very hard to determine the sizes, especially when ordering any accessory related to it. In this guide, I covered various methods to determine its size. Simply, check the back of the watch case, the watch size is engraved on it.
